Cotton Council International announces the winner of
Let’s Design, Season 4

Mumbai, February 8, 2012: Cotton Council International (CCI) is delighted to announce Dhruv Singh as the winner of the fourth season of its fashion design contest – Let’s Design. Jury members Rina Dhaka and Shantanu & Nikhil Mehra with Malaika Arora Khan, Sameera Reddy and Prateik graced the occasion at Raj Kamal Studio, Parel. This pan-India competition gives aspiring designers an opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity with the country’s most important textile fibre and the backbone of Indian fashion – cotton.

Let’s Design is a platform that recognizes individuals who embody the spirit of innovation, versatility and creativity while working with cotton. The 13 finalists competed in a series of challenges specially designed to highlight the many facets of cotton. The top five designers each createdcapsule collections out of Supima, the world’s finest cottons. Each collection was unique and showcased cotton’s versatility with three looks being captures in each collection.

“Season four of Let’s Designsaw a great deal of creativity and innovation”, said CCI Representative, Mr. Sachit Bhatia, “I know our judges had a very difficult time in selecting the winner.”“With Let’s Design we believe in eliciting the latent talent of aspiring young designers and highlighting the fashion potential of cotton. Dhruv Singh brought a unique style and creativity to cotton and should be very proud of his achievement”, added Ms. Agnieszka Fijol, CCI Representative (Programme Head – India)”. “It was a pleasure for my brother and I to be part of Let’s Design season four”, said jury member Shantanu Mehra. “The competition was very strong and all contestants should be proud of their achievements. It’s also great to see cotton getting this kind of fashion focus. I think designers, young and old, have overlooked cotton for ‘modern fabrics’, forgetting that the same looks and feels can be achieved in cotton without sacrificing comfort”.

“Supima was proud to support Let’s Design season four”, added Jesse Curlee, President of Supima. “It’s great to see this level of innovation in cotton and I hope these young designers take this experience with them and continue to work in cotton in their careers”.

Let’s Design airs on zoOm TV every Friday at 8pm. For an insider’s view follow the excitement of the show on Let’s Design’s online partner Stylekandy, India’s premier fashion and lifestyle online magazine.
